Archie
Born: 23 October 2024 | Arrived: December 2024

Archie arrived at Little Oak Sanctuary just before Christmas — a tiny pink piglet with an outsized personality and a whole lot of heart.

The runt of his litter, Archie was born much smaller than his siblings. He was taken indoors to be hand-raised and carefully nurtured through his early weeks. Though he grew stronger, he never quite caught up in size, and his carers knew he needed a special home where he could continue to thrive. That’s when they reached out to us.

Archie is a Large White pig, the same breed as Little Timmy, the piglet who inspired the very beginnings of Little Oak Sanctuary. Like Timmy, Archie is expected to grow into a big pig — potentially up to 350kg — but already, his personality is even bigger than his future frame.

From the moment he stepped through our gates, Archie made it clear he was no ordinary piglet. Bold, affectionate, and wildly enthusiastic with his snouty greetings, Archie quickly made himself at home. He’s known for nuzzling every human within reach, often with great gusto, and for his growing friendship with Lola, a fellow piglet at the sanctuary.

Watching Archie flourish reminds us why we do what we do — especially during a time of year when so many pigs face unimaginable suffering. Archie’s story is one of safety, love, and the chance to live a life of peace — the kind every pig deserves.

Thanks to the support of our compassionate community, Archie is now living the life all piglets should: safe, seen, and deeply loved.
