Planning your Legacy - leaving a gift in your will
Gifts in Wills
A gift in your Will is a simple and powerful way to provide ongoing support to the causes you are passionate about.
Types of gifts
There are many ways you can leave a gift in your Will. A solicitor or other qualified professional can help you make the choice that’s right for you. Some options include:
A gift of whatever is left of your estate (or a percentage thereof) after you have made gifts to family and friends. As it is not a specific amount of money, it keeps its value regardless of inflation.
This is a gift of a set dollar amount determined by you at the time of making or changing your Will.
A gift of a specific item, such as property or shares.
I give ______ percent of the residue of my estate to Little Oak Sanctuary Incorporated of GPO Box 2116 CANBERRA ACT 2601 for its general purposes and the receipt of the Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary or the Public Officer for the time being will be an absolute discharge to my executor.

Support a major project
Regular and one off donations keep our residents fed, happy and healthy, but for major projects, our progress is limited by contributions that we receive above and beyond our baseline operational costs. If you are keen to make a major contribution let us know, below are the types of projects on our "to do" list, if they sound like something you'd like to support, please drop us a line, we're keen to discuss how we can show our appreciation to you or your organisation!
Replacement Tow Vehicle - $30,000
The sanctuary currently relies on privately owned vehicles to collect feed, undertake rescue missions and help in the case of evacuation. The privately owned ute we currently rely on is growing old and is no longer reliable as a tow vehicle. We are seeking to replace it with a vehicle that will allow us to tow a variety of trailers potentially long distances with confidence.
Replacement Tractor - $60,000
Our current tractor, Charlie, is a 1961 Chamberlain, and whilst he's done us proud up to now, he lacks the power and reliability (who can blame him he's not as spritely as he once was) that we require to keep the paddocks and driveways in tip top shape.
Solar Lighting for Stables & Visitors Centre Stage 2 - $15,000
A grant from Perpetual Impact successfully achieved in 2018provided electricity to the stables, feed shed or visitors centre site. Stage 2 will set up an off grid solar kit for our two house yard shelters, our office, printing room, workshop and power the electric fencing.
Water Tanks - $12,000
Climate Change is real, and with tank & dam water being the only source of water for our residents we are looking to place a water tank off each of our animal shelters to capture the valuable liquid that falls from the sky!
Additional Shelters - $12,000
In order for each of our existing paddocks to have a shelter, we need to construct 3 more, at around $4,000 each.
