Tipsy
“What makes night within us may leave stars.” ~ Victor Hugo
Tipsy was born on 22 July 2024, and from the very beginning, life asked more of her than most. She was born with partial paralysis, leaving her back legs weak and uncoordinated. Standing, walking, and keeping up with other lambs did not come easily to her, but determination meant she never stopped trying.

When her family reached out for help, it was clear that Tipsy needed more support than they could provide. She came to Little Oak Sanctuary as a young lamb, unsure on her feet but already showing signs of a determined spirit.

As Tipsy settled in, her personality began to shine. She formed close friendships with Theo, Grace, and Bubba, finding confidence in her surroundings and comfort in her flock. Despite the challenges her body presented, Tipsy never stopped trying. She wanted to move, explore, and be involved in everything happening around her.

One of the most defining moments in Tipsy’s journey came when she was fitted with her first wheelchair. What followed surprised everyone. With the right support beneath her, Tipsy did not just walk, she ran. She learned to jump, play, and race across the yard with such enthusiasm that her wheelchair has needed extra reinforcements just to keep up with her.
Today, Tipsy is no longer a little lamb. She is a young sheep with a bold personality, boundless energy, and determination personified. She plays hard, keeps pace with her friends, and approaches life head on, refusing to be limited by what she was born with.

Tipsy’s life is a powerful reminder that disability does not define ability, and that with care, patience, and the right support, animals can thrive in ways that challenge our expectations. By sponsoring Tipsy, you help provide ongoing veterinary care, physiotherapy support, mobility equipment, and everything she needs to live a full and enriched life. Most importantly, you help ensure Tipsy is valued simply for who she is.

Are Sheep Silly?
Help Protect Sheep
Far from how they are commonly portrayed, sheep are highly intelligent individuals who will form friendships with particular other sheep. Despite their gentle nature and capacity to suffer as any other animal, sheep aren't protected by the same laws as dogs and cats. 'Codes of Practice' side-step the rules, meaning that painful procedures can be undertaken without pain relief, and their lives are routinely ended well before their natural lifespan has been reached. It doesn't have to be this way.
When you sponsor a Little Oak lamb or sheep you will be helping protect all sheep. Your sponsorship will support Little Oak's essential advocacy work – sharing the stories of individual sheep and the plight of their kind across the nation.
Sponsor today, and we'll take you on a journey to learn more about sheep through our regular updates - exclusive only to our monthly sponsors. We'll also keep you up to date on how your monthly gifts are helping to secure a brighter future for the sheep at Little Oak, and their kind across Australia.
