About the Event
This year we're celebrating National Tree Day early, and planting a commemorative run of Black Myrtle trees in honour of dear baby Myrtle, the deer fawn who tragically passed away earlier this year.
Each year we celebrate National Tree day with a mass planting event. After the devastation to our region through drought, the unprecedented bushfires of 2019/2020, and ongoing flooding, we have created extensive new tree runs and an entire fruit orchard which in future years will provide fruit for the residents of Little Oak. This year, we're planting a stunning run of black myrtle (Diamonds in the Dark) trees. These hardy, deciduous trees will provide shelter from the summer sun for the yards off our new stables, and will also be a memorial for dear little Myrtle the deer fawn (a black fallow deer).
