Alice

“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any.”  Alice Walker

Birth date: 7 June 2014       Arrival date: 7 September 2014

Alice is a beautiful, friendly soul. Separated from her flock as a 3-month-old lamb, Alice was picked up and taken to a pound in Sydney. The future was not looking bright for this little lady, but fortunately, we were able to rescue her and offer her sanctuary.

Previously known only as "Number 437", we named this beautiful girl Alice, after the inspiring author and activist, Alice Walker. As we got to know Alice, we saw just how apt her name was. Alice was fearless. She knew no limits; she would climb structures, duck under fences; basically, Alice would do whatever she needed to do, to get where she wanted to be.

Alice shows us that each of us has within us the power to take action. We can be stifled by the voices of others, the thoughts in our own heads, the pressures of society. Alice inspires us to use the power each of us has to create the world we want to see.
